Detailed Description
The Rolleiflex 3.5E Type 2 is a 6×6 twin-lens reflex camera manufactured by Franke & Heidecke in Germany. Serial number 1,861,328 falls within the Type 2 production range of 1,850,000 to 1,868,999, dating this example to approximately 1957–1959.
The Schneider-Kreuznach Xenotar 75mm f/3.5 is a five-element taking lens and uses Bayonet II filters, lens hoods and other accessories. Exposure settings are controlled through the shutter-speed and aperture wheels on the front standard. The Synchro-Compur leaf shutter provides flash synchronization at all shutter speeds.
This example does not have the optional selenium exposure meter. A separate handheld meter or another method of determining exposure will be required.
The shutter and diaphragm mechanism timing has been set, and all camera functions are operating normally. The camera is rated Excellent, with visible paint loss and some wear to the leatherette. The fitted leather case is structurally sound and shows expected wear to its leather from age and use.
