Every product we sell is described using one of the condition codes below. These ratings give you a clear expectation of cosmetic condition, functionality, and warranty coverage.

In many cases, additional details will be provided in the individual product description.

Consignment Items

Items sold on consignment include a 30-day warranty unless otherwise stated in the product description.

Important Note on Condition

For select products, cosmetic condition and operating condition may be graded separately to provide greater clarity. In those cases, cosmetic grading refers to physical appearance, while operating grading refers strictly to mechanical and electronic performance.

Because much of the equipment we sell is vintage or previously used, minor signs of age such as light wear, internal lens dust, or small cosmetic marks are common and should be expected unless otherwise noted.

NEW

A new product that has never previously been sold, just as you would purchase from any retail store.

Warranty: Our 90-day store warranty applies (30 days for consignment items).

NEW – OLD STOCK

A new product that has never previously been sold but may no longer be in current production. These items are often acquired from other retailers clearing older inventory.

Warranty: Our 90-day store warranty applies, except for products in sealed boxes or unopened packages.

USED – LIKE NEW

A previously sold item that appears totally new, as if it has never been used. All functions work perfectly.

Warranty: Our 90-day store warranty applies.

USED – MINT

A used item that looks virtually new. May show extremely minor superficial scuff marks. All functions work perfectly.

Lenses may show minor internal dust that is normal and will not affect photographic results.

Warranty: Our 90-day store warranty applies.

USED – MINT MINUS / NEAR MINT

A used item that looks close to new. May have very minor superficial scuff marks or light wear with no dings or dents. All functions work perfectly.

Lenses may have minor dust that is normal and will not affect photographic results.

Warranty: Our 90-day store warranty applies.

USED – EXCELLENT PLUS

A used item showing less than normal cosmetic wear for its age. May have minor scuff marks or light wear but no dings or dents. All functions work well without exception.

Lenses may have normal dust and minor cleaning marks that will not affect photographic results. Any additional issues will be clearly described.

Warranty: Our 90-day store warranty applies.

USED – EXCELLENT

A used item showing normal cosmetic wear for its age. May have small dings or dents. All functions work well, though minor issues may be present and will be noted in the product description.

Lenses may have normal dust and minor cleaning marks that will not affect photographic results.

Warranty: Our 90-day store warranty applies.

USED – VERY GOOD

A used item showing more than normal cosmetic wear for its age. May have small dings or dents. All functions work, though issues may be present and will be fully described.

Lenses may have dust or cleaning marks that will not affect photographic results.

Warranty: Our 90-day store warranty applies.

USED – BARGAIN

A usable item in generally good condition that is offered at a reduced price due to cosmetic and/or functional reasons. All known issues will be clearly described in the product listing.

Warranty: Our 90-day store warranty applies unless otherwise stated.

FOR PARTS OR REPAIR / VINTAGE & COLLECTABLE

An item with one or more functional issues that prevent normal satisfactory operation. These items are sold as-is.

The detailed product description will outline known issues.

Warranty: No warranty applies unless otherwise stated in the product description.

Fully Functional

Everything operates as intended.

Aperture smooth and responsive
Focus smooth and accurate
Autofocus (if applicable) working properly
Electronics communicating correctly
No mechanical faults affecting use

This is a ready-to-shoot piece of equipment.

Serviced

Recently serviced or professionally overhauled.

CLA’d or repaired by a qualified technician
Verified working to specification
Documentation noted when available

A premium grade for buyers who want added confidence.

Functional with Minor Notes

Fully usable, with small disclosed quirks.

Examples may include slight stiffness in the focus ring, a meter reading slightly off, minor resistance in a control, or slower-than-spec flash recycle.

Nothing preventing normal photographic use. Any defects will be noted in the description.

Partially Functional

Core operation works, but one or more features do not.

Examples may include manual focus working while autofocus does not, an inoperative meter, TTL flash not functioning, or a secondary control not working.

Usable within limits. Any defects will be noted in the description.

For Parts / Repair

Not fully operational.

Sold as-is with no warranty. Suitable for repair, restoration, or parts.
