The Back Room Stash Sale – August 22 2026 Rain date TBD in September

If you have ever been into the Camera Trading Company store you know that there is a lot more camera equipment around here than what you see in the store or on the website.

Over the years we accumulated thousands of items. Some came in with collections, some were things we bought because we thought they were interesting or useful, and some are simply things that we have never had the time to sort through, test, photograph and put online.

A lot of it has ended up in boxes in the back rooms and storage units.

Customers have asked many times if they could go through the back rooms to see what's there. Normally the answer has been no. There is too much stuff, not enough room, and quite frankly some of it hasn't been looked at in years.

So, on Saturday August 22, we are going to haul a bunch of it outside and let you have at it.

What is going to be there?

We can't give you a complete list because we don't actually know everything that is in the boxes.

There will be cameras for parts or repair, aftermarket lenses for just about every camera system, tripods and tripod parts, lighting stands, flashes and lighting equipment, camera bags, books, filters, lens caps and all sorts of other photographic odds and ends.

There will also undoubtedly be things that I have completely forgotten about.

This is not going to be our normal store inventory. Most of these items haven't been cleaned, photographed and individually listed. Some will work, some may need repair, some will be useful for parts and some will probably leave us wondering what on earth they are.

That's part of the fun.

Come and dig through the boxes

This is really going to be more like an old fashioned rummage sale than a regular Camera Trading Company sale.

We will bring out the boxes, put them on tables and tarps and let people dig through them. If you like old cameras, repair cameras, collect oddball photographic equipment or just enjoy looking through boxes of camera stuff, there should be plenty to keep you occupied.

There may also be some perfectly good equipment that has simply been sitting around because we haven't had time to deal with it.

We don't want to put it back

That's really the point of the sale.

We need the space.

The back room items will be priced to move. Once we have hauled all of these boxes out of storage and into the parking area, we really don't want to put them back.

So if you find something you can use, make us an offer.

When and where

The Back Room Stash Sale will be held Saturday, August 22 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. in the parking area at Camera Trading Company, 2896 Rideau Ferry Road in Perth.

Since this is an outdoor sale, it will be weather dependent. If the weather looks iffy, keep an eye on the front page of our website for updates. If we do get rained out, we will reschedule it for a date in September.

Come out, dig through some boxes and see what you can find.

You may find exactly what you have been looking for.

Or you may find something you didn't know you were looking for until you saw it.

Either way, please buy it.
